I'm Jessica and I must admit when Jacqui told us in the first week that we would be creating a blog I had no idea what she was talking about. It was as though she was speaking to me in a foreign language. Blogs, wiki's, avatar, blue screens???? HUH!!! Since then I have spent many hours researching blogs (procrastinating) before I actually attempted to create my own... well I SURVIVED!!!! Here I am posting (yes I can even use blogging jargon now!).
I actually found that creating my blog was extremely simple! Look I was even able to upload a picture of myself! I do feel very proud of myself and would definitely use this technological tool within my classroom.
From an educators point of view I find that this tool would work effectively in all classrooms, from upper primary to the early phases. Learners of all age groups and abilities could use this tool due to its simplicity. It could be used in all KLA areas anywhere from reporting about a science experiment to creating a visual online art work. I like how followers of the blog can post comments. This could be very useful in a teaching context if students are required to read and respond to fellow students blogs etc.
I have enjoyed creating this blog and feel that learners would feel the same way.
Thanks Jacqui and Jenny for giving me the confidence to explore teaching and learning tools online!
